If you lose your network connection right after installing a new driver for the Intel wireless adapter or running a Windows Update, you should revert your driver to a previous version. Now if you had a fancy 4 antenna card in your pc that could do 4x4 many of the wifi6 cards are going to be slower because it is very rare for them to have 4 antenna so they would run 802.11ac using only say 2. Keep me posted with the outcome after performing the troubleshooting steps. Fix 2: Roll back the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 driver. Will likely be exactly the same if you are lucky. You can use the guided troubleshooter it will walk you through the steps to resolve the slow internet speed issue with your notebook. I have already performed updates through Intel and HP so I am stumped and don't know what else to do.
I have already searched for issues with this Intel Wireless adapter and can not find any solutions to make this perform to its capability. I will just use it for simple internet, just wanted to get better signal comparing with Intel AC-3165 which is a little bit slow.
Is this an indication why I am not able to get the full capability from the Intel Wrieless and it is a driver issue? I checked the properties of the Intel Wireless and looked at the Advanced section which seems to indicate only 802.11 a/b/g/n and no ac. I already contacted Intel by phone and did a series of troubleshooting with no improvement at all so I was told to contact HP. In additon, I decided to run the HP notebook on the 2Ghz band to see the performance which was nearly the same performance as on the 5Ghz band. The results shows the HP notebook and Dell Latitude which avgs at 60/50 and the Macbook Pro avgs 100/100 where both were at 802.11ac on 5GHz band. I have ran speed tests comparing this HP notebook, Dell Latitude 7000 and the Macbook Pro within my home and 1 floor below where the router is located. I have Verizon FIOS which is 100/100 and on their Quantum Gateway router.
I have a Star Wars Special Edition Notebook that came with an Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-3165.
